Dentures

Benefit From a Full Smile With Dentures

A full mouth of teeth is not just important for cosmetic purposes, or even daily tasks such as speaking or eating. Your mouth relies on teeth to help maintain your facial structure. Without some kind of teeth in the appropriate place, the jaw bone can atrophy and the muscles can start to shift, causing your face to change and even appear to shrink.

Dentures either supplement remaining teeth or replace your teeth completely, which helps slow the process of bone loss while restoring your ability to eat, speak, and smile properly.

Book an appointment with Method Dental to find out if dentures are an option for you.

Types of Dentures

Full Dentures

Full dentures are what most people imagine when they hear the word “denture.” These appliances are made with artificial teeth set in pink resin that give the look of gums. Full dentures fit over the natural gums and, with the proper fit, stay in place without any help. Some wearers also like to use adhesive for added stability.

Method Dental only offers full dentures that have been totally customized to your oral health needs.

Partial dentures are designed to replace one or more missing teeth. Unlike bridges, a partial denture is removable.

With partial dentures, the false teeth are set on a wire frame which is custom-made to fit comfortably in your mouth. The frame is similar to those you see in orthodontic retainers. One advantage partial dentures have over bridges is that the teeth on either side of the gap do not need to undergo any special preparation before a partial denture can be used.

Implant-supported dentures allow you to replace multiple teeth at once with the added benefit of stability and reduced bone loss. As the name implies, implant-supported dentures rely on a few metal implants which are installed in the jaw bone. Once the bone has fused with the implant, the dentures can be fastened to the implants. This provides similar stability to the root of a natural tooth.

Implant-assisted dentures are removable, providing the benefits of a standard full or partial denture as well as the benefits of dental implants.
